During the past ten years more than 40 000 square metres of roads, public pavements and intersections were laid using V&A Doubles. (ClassiCobble was formerly known as Classic Cobble.)

Cobbles in this range have a flattish moulded surface, ensuring good resistance to abrasion and other forms of wear-and-tear. This design feature ensures even distribution of the loads across the cobble surface, eliminating undue wear at any particular point. V&A Double Cobbles are cast from many different master patterns which have the same footprint dimensions but which differ in their surface emulations. This greatly reduces the possibility of a repetitive, "mass-produced" appearance arising in a large paved surface. As with other Pavatile cobbles, the top wearing surface, which represents the pigmented area, has a material composition which differs from that of the thicker base section. This (and the added modifiers in the concrete used for the wearing surface) reduces pin-holing, contributes to colour consistency, and ensures excellent wearing characteristics. The default MPa is as follows: Wearing surface: 35 MPa Base: 25 MPa. Changes to the MPa requirement can be implemented upon request. Below, a traffic circle has been formed by starting with a small octagonal module, and adding a ring of wedged circle segments. Several rings of thinner, slightly wedged circle segments are used before squares are incorporated into the design.

	Modules Overview The proportions of modules in the ClassiCobble 75 range are multiples or half-multiples of 52.5 mm. Modules include the popular standard 105 x 105 mm module and many other elementary modules, as well as advanced patterning modules such as triangles, round and wedge-shaped modules designed to facilitate the creation of circles, layouts on the diagonal, accent lines and other custom designs in a 75 mm thickness. The range also includes the well-known heavy duty V&A Double Cobble which facilitates quick laying in large projects. The top of each individual cobble segment measures 99 mm x 98 mm, allowing the V&A Double Cobble units to abut in any configuration, even in herringbone. Having allowed for 1 mm settling space between the cobble units, this offset facilitates uniform grouting joints of approx. 8 mm between individual cobble segments. Rationale for dimensions These cobbles are modular with 75 mm thick clay bricks, assisting in achieving tidy borders and patterns.
