The bridges of Lake Michelle

Project update 2006.09.26

Lake Michelle is a vast lifestyle development carefully integrated with a natural wetland system under the watchful eye of Ross Cameron. Water flows in and out of the adjacent nature reserve. Pavatile's paving products have been used extensively in the roads and walkways, and kerbstones and other specialist products have been employed, several of them developed specially for Lake Michelle.

The edges of the bridges are capped with enormous EdgeBloks. Note how the Lava surface texture extends to the sides of the blocks.

The sides of the bridges are clad with blocks from the SlateBlok Collection, cast to a suitable thickness.

Many of the bridges at Lake Michelle are also paved with EdgeBlok modules, while modules from the Plaza Collection (with a modern Granito surface texture) are used at the intersections of roads and in dual purpose (pedestrian/vehicular) zones.

Gabions devised by David Stonestreet integrate with the landscape design of Tanya de Villiers and the architecture of Michele Sandilands and her team.
